Embedding your class schedule with the TelosGym Schedule WordPress plugin

Use the TelosGym Schedule WordPress plugin's shortcode or Gutenberg block to show your live class schedule — no manual HTML editing needed.

If your site runs on WordPress, the TelosGym Schedule plugin gives you a native shortcode and a Gutenberg block for your live class schedule — no manual HTML editing required.

Would you rather add the widget by hand, or isn't your site on WordPress? See the separate plain HTML and Wix guides. The plugin builds on that exact same widget.

Install the plugin

The plugin isn't listed in the WordPress.org plugin directory yet, so for now it installs from GitHub rather than through a search in Plugins → Add New:

  1. Download the latest version from github.com/SLSoftware-UK/telos-gym-wp-plugin (Code → Download ZIP).
  2. In wp-admin, go to Plugins → Add New → Upload Plugin, choose the downloaded zip, and click Install Now.
  3. Click Activate.

Once it's listed on WordPress.org, this will just be a normal Plugins → Add New search-and-install — we'll update this article when that happens.

Get an embed key and connect it

  1. In your TelosGym staff dashboard, go to Settings → External embeds → Create key. Use this WordPress site's real published URL as the Site URL — the key only works from the exact origin it was created for.
  2. In WordPress, go to Settings → TelosGym Schedule and paste the key in.
  3. Click Test connection to confirm it's working before moving on.

Show the schedule

Either option renders the same live schedule — use whichever fits how you're editing the page:

  • Shortcode (classic editor or any page builder): [telos_schedule]
  • Block (block editor): search the block inserter for TelosGym Schedule and insert it. Its settings panel lets you choose how many days to show and override the accent colour for that one instance.

Reskinning

Set a site-wide accent colour and font on the Settings → TelosGym Schedule page itself, using the colour picker and font dropdown. This applies to every shortcode and block on your site, unless an individual block overrides the colour in its own settings panel.

Display options

Two more settings live on the TelosGym side — separate from the plugin's WordPress screen — under Settings → External embeds. They apply to every embed of your schedule everywhere, WordPress included:

  • Show studio name — on by default. Turn it off if the schedule is embedded on your own site, where repeating your studio's name in the widget header is redundant.
  • Spaces shown as — either "12 spots left" (the default, shows the exact number) or "Spaces Available" (no number shown). A fully-booked class always shows Full either way.

Changes typically show up within about 45 seconds of saving — no plugin update or republish needed.

What this does and doesn't do

  • Display and link-out only. Each class shows a Book link to your TelosGym-hosted booking page — no booking or payment happens inside WordPress itself.
  • Fetched live from the visitor's browser. The schedule goes straight from your visitor's browser to TelosGym — nothing is cached or proxied through your WordPress server.
  • Free. There's no premium tier or paid add-on for this plugin.

Troubleshooting

"Test connection" shows red
Almost always an origin mismatch or a mistyped key. Re-check the key and Site URL under Settings → External embeds in TelosGym.

The shortcode or block shows nothing on the page
Check that a key is actually saved on the Settings → TelosGym Schedule page. With no key configured, the shortcode/block only shows a notice — and only to a logged-in admin. Visitors see nothing at all, by design.

Works on one page but not another
The shortcode or block needs adding to each page individually, the same as any other WordPress content block.
