Macros and diet plans
Set a client’s calorie and macro targets, build them a day-by-day diet plan, and handle their requests for a recalculation.
Nutrition in TelosGym is two connected things: a client's macro targets (how much they should be eating) and their diet plan (what that looks like as actual meals).
First: Nutrition is a paid add-on
Macros and diet plans are part of the Nutrition plugin, not the core platform. If your studio isn't subscribed, the Macros and Diet Plan tabs won't appear for anyone — trainers included.
If a trainer reports a missing tab, check the subscription before anything else. It's the usual explanation.
Setting macro targets
On the client, open Macros. A target is four numbers:
- Calories
- Protein (g)
- Carbs (g)
- Fat (g)
You can type them in, or use Calculate from profile — TelosGym works out a suggestion from the client's profile and loads it into the form for you to review. It isn't saved until you save it, so you can adjust anything you disagree with first.
A calculation needs the client's profile filled in — sex, date of birth, height, activity level and goal. Without those there's nothing to calculate from.
When a client asks for a recalculation
Clients can request a recalculation from their own app, and the request surfaces to you rather than changing anything by itself.
You'll see it as a banner on the client's Macros tab, and as a badge on their row in the roster. It carries:
- the scope — whether they're asking about their Macros, their Diet plan, or Both,
- the date they asked,
- and any note they left, e.g. "I don't like bananas".
Read the note before you recalculate. It's usually the whole reason they asked, and it's often about the plan rather than the numbers.
Building a diet plan
Diet plans are built in the staff dashboard diet plan builder. A plan is structured as days → meals → food items, with each item carrying its portion, calories and macros.
There's a Draft with AI option that builds the structure from a brief, which you then review and edit. See Drafting programmes and diet plans with AI.
You can email the finished plan to the client.
What trainers see in the PT app
In the PT app, the Diet Plan tab is read-only. A trainer can pull up the client's current plan — name, description, macro target, and a day-by-day view of the meals and food items — but authoring happens in the dashboard.
If a client has no plan yet, the tab says so and points at the staff dashboard.
Macros, on the other hand, can be edited from the PT app, including Calculate from profile.
