Drafting programmes and diet plans with AI

Get a first draft of a workout programme or diet plan from a short brief — how to write a good one, and the daily limits.

TelosGym can produce a first draft of two things: a workout programme and the structure of a diet plan. Both save you the blank-page problem. Neither is meant to go to a client untouched.

Where it is

Both are in the staff dashboard. The PT app doesn't have AI drafting — diet plan authoring moved to the dashboard, and programmes are read-only there.

Writing a brief that works

You give it a short brief and it builds from that. The more specific you are, the less you'll have to fix.

Worth putting in:

  • Training age and ability — "complete beginner", "lifted for five years".
  • How many days a week they can realistically train.
  • Equipment — a full gym, dumbbells at home, one kettlebell.
  • The goal — and the goal they actually have, not the one you'd pick.
  • Injuries and limitations — the most important line in the brief.
  • Anything they won't do. No burpees is a real constraint.

"Beginner, 3 days a week, full gym, general strength, dodgy left shoulder, hates running" produces something far more usable than "beginner programme".

Always review before you save

The draft lands in the builder for you to look at. It isn't saved or sent anywhere until you save it, and it isn't visible to the client until you make it Active.

Check it properly. Read it as though a colleague handed it to you:

  • Does the volume actually suit this person?
  • Does it respect the injuries you mentioned?
  • Are the exercises ones you'd coach, and ones your library has?
  • Is the progression sensible over the weeks?

You're the one prescribing it. The draft is a starting point, and your name is on what the client gets.

Daily limits

AI drafting is capped per studio, per day. The limit resets each day at midnight UTC.

If you hit it, you'll be told — carry on building by hand and the allowance comes back the next day. Limits are set per feature, so using up your programme drafts doesn't necessarily stop you drafting a diet plan.

💡 Drafting the same programme five times over to get a perfect one is the quickest way to hit the cap. It's usually faster to take a decent draft and edit it than to keep re-rolling.

What it doesn't do

  • It doesn't send anything to the client.
  • It doesn't replace a consultation, a screening, or your judgement.
  • It doesn't know anything about the client beyond what you put in the brief.
