Creating membership types and setting prices
Set up the memberships you sell — monthly, quarterly, yearly, one-off or day passes — with prices, off-peak rules and the facilities each one includes.
Membership types are the products you sell — for example "Unlimited Monthly", "Off-Peak Yearly" or "Day Pass".
💡 Before you start: set up your Facilities and Off-peak hours under Settings, because every membership type is built on them. See A tour of the Settings menu.
Create a membership type
- Go to Memberships and open the Membership types tab.
- Click New membership type.
- Enter a Name and Description.
- Set the Price in your usual currency — for example
45.00. TelosGym handles all the conversion for Stripe behind the scenes, so you never need to think in pence. - Choose the Billing:
- Monthly
- Every 3 months
- Every 6 months
- Yearly
- One-off
- Choose the Access: Full access — any time, or Off-peak only (which uses the off-peak hours from Settings).
- Under Included facilities, tick what this membership grants — e.g. just "Gym", or "Gym" and "Spin studio" together.
- Save. With Active ticked, it's immediately available to assign to members.
⚠️ Tick at least one facility. A membership with no facilities selected grants no access at all, so members holding it won't be able to check in.
Day passes
Tick This is a day pass (single day, no membership) to create a day pass. Day passes are always one-off payments, so the Billing option is locked to One-off.
It's worth creating a day pass even if you rarely sell them — reception can then sell one straight from the Check-in page when someone turns up without a membership.
Retiring a membership type
To stop offering a membership type without affecting members who already have it, edit it and untick Active — visible when assigning memberships. It disappears from the list when assigning new memberships, but existing members keep theirs.
Next step
Once you have at least one membership type, you're ready to add clients and assign memberships.
